Ball Machine Club

Our new ball machine will be ready for use starting Tuesday April 16th!  We are currently registering members for the Ball Machine Club.  The cost is $15 a month for a family or $10 a month for an individual.    Please stop by the Tennis Pro Shop to fill out the paperwork today!  Here are some of the benefits to joining the Ball Machine Club:

• You can reserve the machine up to (3) days in advance
• You have access to the machine when desired
• You get unlimited use of the ball machine

The ball machine will be availabe to rent by any Onion Creek Tennis or Golf member for:

• $18- 90 minutes use for one person
• $15- 60 minutes use for one person
• $8- 30 minutes for one person

Reservations may be made (1) day in advance

 





Yonex Demo Day

Join us this Saturday, April 6, from 9:00- 11:00 a.m. for free tennis drills!  This will be a great opportunity to try the latest Yonex racquets and a great chance to win some fun Yonex prizes!

Clay Court Update

Dear Members,

As most of you are well aware, the wind storm that hit Austin on Monday, February 25th caused substantial damage to our clay tennis courts, forcing us to close the courts until further notice.  Given the significant financial impact of the damage, for which our initial bids have reflected repair costs upwards of $45,000, it is imperative that we work through the appropriate channels to ensure that our insurance coverage is fully utilized.  Unfortunately this means that the process has not moved as hastily as we might like, however we are working diligently to resolve the situation as quickly as possible.  Concurrent with the insurance claim process, we continue to explore all options available to us to facilitate a speedy repair once the financial requirements become more clear.

 

As I have shared with many of you, I am excited about the direction of our tennis program and the growth that we have experienced over the past year.  Since Jenny Gray joined our team as the Director of Tennis nine months ago participation and activity have grown to levels that we have not seen in quite some time.  We understand that the tennis program is an important part of the Onion Creek Club experience, and we are committed to ensuring that the positive momentum continues.  In fact, I am pleased to share that we have ordered a new state-of-the-art ball machine that will arrive within the next few weeks.  The new ball machine will undoubtedly be a welcome addition, and will help us continue to improve the tennis experience.

Clay Court Update

We are working diligently with the insurance company to get the situation with the clay courts resolved.  The total cost for resurfacing both courts is $40,000, so for obvious reasons it is important that we go through the insurance company first and foremost.  Once we have a definitive answer from them, we will move forward with the resurfacing.  Thank you again for your patience!

Pickleball Cancelled

We have cancelled Pickleball today due to the inclement weather.  We will let you know when it has been rescheduled.

Onion Creek USTA Teams

Congratulations to the Ladies 3.0 USTA team who beat UT Whitaker on Saturday (3-2).  The ladies will play this Saturday March 2, at home, at 12:00 against Austin Tennis Center.  Come cheer them on!

The men's 3.5 team lost a close battle (2-3) to Westwood on Sunday.  The men get a nice break and will resume play on March 17 at the Polo Club.

The men's 4.0 team lost a tough match to Lakeway on Sunday.  The men will travel to Lakeway for their next match on March 17.
